How inconceivable is the breadth of time and how fleeting the machinations of each generation. How powerful is independent thought and how anemic the attempts to stifle it. How regenerative is the human spirit and how weak the grasp of tyranny. How supreme is the sovereignty of God and how futile the rule of evil. How constant is the love of God and how impermanent suffering from injustice.
That our days are dark is lamentable, tragic, sometimes fatal, but it is only darkness.
